One of the biggest reasons so many people stress out about work is because they have too much on their plate—not necessarily a bad thing for an employee who wants to learn and improve. But if you’re feeling unhappy, overwhelmed, or stressed out, it might be time to take a step back and reconsider your commitments. One way to do that? Do something outside of work just for fun, even if it’s only once a week. You’ll feel more recharged and ready to tackle life’s challenges at work. Just remember: Work isn’t everything; knowing how to manage your work life balance is key.

If you’re experiencing burnout, it may be time to take a step back and evaluate your commitments. If you’re considering a part-time job or working from home, now may be an ideal time to give it a try. You can also work on self-care routines that will help reduce work stress and improve your work life balance. For example, do some online shopping for clothes or accessories you’ve been wanting to buy.

Feel Good in Your Own Skin

  1. Take time to get some exercise : When we feel like we have too much on our plate, exercise can be a great way to reduce stress and release endorphins; it’s also been shown to increase self-esteem. Remember that you don’t need to run marathons or do triathlons in order to reap the benefits of moving your body. A walk around your neighborhood before dinner or a few sets of pushups after work will help you take some pressure off!
  2. Make sure you’re eating healthy : In addition to reducing your stress levels, a healthy diet is going to make you feel good about yourself–no matter what size! If you can work some fruits and veggies into your busy schedule, by all means, do so. If not, at least try not to go overboard with pizza and soda…
  3. Unplug : The internet has made it easier than ever for us to know what everyone else is doing at all times—and that doesn’t leave us feeling very good about ourselves. Taking time away from technology allows us a chance to remove ourselves from other people’s expectations as well as allow us more time for other activities (like exercising!).
  4. Set realistic goals : Going back to work while taking care of kids at home isn’t easy—but nor should it be impossible!

Prioritize For Success

No matter how well-intentioned you are, it’s pretty hard to have a work life balance if you’re working too much. It seems obvious: The less time you spend at work, the more time you have for other things. But when your job is high pressure and expectations seem unending, it can be difficult to reduce your workload without feeling overwhelmed.

That’s where prioritizing comes in. We live in a day and age where people think they can do everything – but we need to get better at figuring out what needs our immediate attention and what can wait for later on in our busy days.

How do you decide what should get your attention first? Start by asking yourself these questions:

1. Which tasks can be done by someone else?

2. Which tasks have a limited time frame in which they need to be completed (i.e., X number of hours or days)?

3. What’s due soon, but isn’t really that important?

4. What has a deadline later on down the road?

5. Which tasks require your immediate attention and can’t wait until tomorrow, but not even 24 hours from now?

6. Which tasks don’t actually need to be completed—they could go undone with little-to-no negative repercussions?

Once you answer those questions, it will become much easier for you to figure out how to manage your work life balance — because everything won’t necessarily fall under today’s job description anymore. You might notice some things slipping through cracks — that happens sometimes — but prioritizing will give your work life balance a huge boost overall!

Learn From Others

There’s no such thing as a normal schedule, and that might be one of your biggest advantages. You don’t have to follow any rules if you don’t want to—so experiment! You might find out that you can get so much more done by working from home in your pajamas on Sundays or that you love sleeping at an ungodly hour and waking up early to make it to yoga class.

It might take some trial and error, but ultimately whatever works for you is going to reduce work stress and put you in a good place mentally. Take notes!

Take notes. Keep track of what works for you and what doesn’t, so you can remember when a change might be necessary. Don’t be afraid to ask your colleagues or friends for advice.

You can also talk to an HR representative about work-life balance; some companies offer programs specifically tailored to help employees feel happier, healthier and more productive on the job.

Most importantly, remember that life is full of ups and downs. Don’t get caught up in comparing yourself to other people on Instagram or Facebook, because you won’t ever see how they look behind closed doors!

Exercise, Meditate and Sleep Well

These three healthy habits will help you reduce work stress. You will be better able to focus and therefore perform better at your job. Take a 30-minute walk after lunch or an hour walk on your lunch break, go jogging in your free time or meditate (10 min in morning and 10 min before bedtime).

Don’t forget to sleep well; don’t spend all night in front of TV, surf internet, do it early enough. When you wake up in a good mood, when you are happy while doing what you are doing then everything will be fine. And don’t think that these things cannot be done with full-time jobs because they can be achieved by everyone who wants to achieve them.

Remember: We become what we think about!

The real secret is to establish a routine, after all it’s in your interest to make these things a habit. That way you can get going and have time for other things you might like to do. It’s not important how much time you devote to exercise, sleep or meditation. J

ust do your best and that is what matters because after all it’s not something that requires only one day a week but every day if possible so there is no excuse of being busy with work when you don’t have enough time for yourself on other days of week!

But even 10 minutes spent exercising, meditating or sleeping well will help reduce stress levels!

Do What’s Important Now

We’ve all got a ton of responsibilities and tasks to work on, but that doesn’t mean we need to be working at 100% all of the time. Set aside a certain amount of time in your schedule for high priority items and use that as your opportunity to get things done, even if it’s only 20 minutes here or there.

Getting even 5 minutes here or there can make a huge difference! If you’re more experienced, look into how Kanban is a great way to focus on what’s important by only pulling work from your backlog that has a set due date.

If you’re just starting out, give David Allen’s Getting Things Done method a try and focus on mastering one project before moving onto another one.

Take A Break

If you’re feeling job pressure, take a break. Take a walk outside, go to lunch with a friend, play with your kids…even if it’s just for 30 minutes. A break can make all of the difference in how you see your job and how well you do it. It can also help you refocus and recommit to doing your best work.

Take time to recognize your accomplishments. Even small achievements deserve to be recognized, so don’t discount them as unimportant or trivial. Celebrate what you’ve done, however big or small it is—whether it’s meeting a deadline, finishing a project, or exceeding expectations at work.

This may sound silly, but a lot of people just don’t take time to pat themselves on the back for their accomplishments and that can affect their motivation and self-esteem. Make sure you take time to appreciate your victories—even if they’re tiny ones!

Stop Multitasking

Is your work life balance suffering from job pressure? Even if you feel like you are managing your time well, it is likely that you are still overwhelmed. The truth is that multitasking is a myth; you cannot actually do more than one thing at once. If you have several tasks on your plate, it would be better to prioritize them in order of importance and focus on only one task at a time.

Once that task is completed, move onto another important project. Finally, try turning off push notifications for any social media apps or email accounts so you aren’t being constantly distracted during work hours. It can take some time to train yourself out of bad habits when juggling multiple tasks simultaneously;

But with practice, you will find it much easier to achieve peace of mind through tackling projects one by one instead of all at once.

It can be hard to pull away from work when you have job pressure.
Try to only check emails for 5 minutes a day, otherwise there is a big chance you will spend longer time on your email than necessary. If people know that you are responding in 5 minutes, they will get back to you faster.

Stop multitasking and practice focusing on one task at a time instead of juggling several projects all at once; it may seem like an impossible challenge initially, but with enough practice and dedication it should become easier to prioritize your tasks in order of importance.
