Meta-owned social media platform Instagram has recently launched a new playback feature for its users, which creates a Recap of their Top 10 Stories of the year 2021.
With this new amazing feature, Instagram automatically creates a recap of users’ best 10 photos or videos stories which they shared and got amazing results in the whole year of 2021. While this is an amazing feature that selects the stories automatically, it also allows users to remove or select any other story which they feel to share before posting their 2021 Playback video.
Instagram has made this feature live for all the users and it will only be live for few upcoming weeks till the new year.
How users will be able to use this feature:
To use this playback feature, users will see a banner on their Instagram app like above in the picture when you tap on this banner, you will be able to create the playback from the stories archive. You can select 10 of them to make the playback or Instagram will automatically choose the best 10 stories for the playback video.
If you do not like any of them you can select the story and replace it with another story. And it’s done, your playback video will be then compiled and will be ready to post.
This new feature would be an ease for the users, instead of resharing the old stories individually now they can create a layback and share it all for once.
This new feature seems to be inspired by Spotify’s Wrapped feature, and the third-party tools which are wildly popular at the end of the year, allowing their users to make a playback-like video to share on their platform.
As per the reports, the social media company is also working on bringing back a version of the company’s original chronological feed, which was removed in 2016. Instagram uses an algorithmically sorted feed, like Facebook and Twitter. Regardless, Instagram is yet to roll out the ability to view posts in chronological order.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, disclosed during a US Congress hearing that the company was also working on giving more control to users on the platform, according to Reuters.
Instagram working on improving security and identity of the accounts:
Recently, Instagram has started asking its users to record video selfies of themselves which will help Instagram to identify if they are human or bots. This new service has come into effect as it is taken to protect users from harassment on its platform. Instagram is also working to roll out better parental controls and “Want a break?” reminders for children in the countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, and the US.
